The Nottingham Dental Society is now managed by Dr Mandeep Hampson of Porchester Dental practice. She's been organising the events since 2005. Over the years the group has been chaired by many regular attendees who have assisted in making the Nottingham Dental Society a fantastic place to learn and network.
Back in 1982 a group of young dentists decided to set up their own dental meetings to meet, network and learn together. They were:
They met at the Strathdon Hotel and the cost of the first meetings was £6, they ran 6 meetings a year. Later they moved to the Savoy, which is now known as the Park Inn.
Years later in the 90's the meetings were then handed over to be managed by Amarjit Gill, Paul Rudin and Pru Brindle.
In 2005 Mandy Hampson and Bob Lewthwaite took the reigns and continued to attract new members and celebrated the 25 year anniversary by inviting the very talented late Sverker Toreskog for a study day and celebrated with an evening gala event.
We celebrated the 30 year anniversary by inviting Raj Rattan who also vowed the auidence performing a very impressive magic act.
Currently the meetings are organised by Mandy Hampson and chaired by Andy Toy, John Rowson, Richard Skeggs and various GDPs. Anyone can help and get involved in whatever capacity they feel comfortable in.
